Kathy has taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English as a Second Language (ESL) for over twenty-five years. She has taught ESL courses at Las Positas College and EFL courses for international students at California State University at Hayward. She has trained teachers throughout California for the State Department of Education and authored "Teaching Pronunciation in Context," a training program for teachers. She has also trained teachers in the TESOL program at the University of California Santa Cruz Extension in Silicon Valley.

Currently she teaches English language training courses at companies such as IBM and Altera. She is the author of the programs Pronunciation in English and Idioms in English, and co- author of Writing in English. A streamlined version of Idioms in English is available as an app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in the Apple iTunes Store.
